Gayle Hits Century To Usher In 6-Wicket Win Against England

Chris Gayle once again put a grand show and feast for cricket lovers who had flocked for T 20 World cup for west Indies Vs England match, Reportedly, Gayle made the fastest century of the World Cup  which helped Wi cinch a 6 wicket win over the English cricket team. The century came off at just 47 balls that had five boundaries and 11 over boundaries which essentially broke his own record, where earlier Gayle had scored 100 out of 50 balls against South Africa. Earlier Marlon Samuels was the one who had set the platform right by hitting eight incredible boundaries on his way to score a smashing 37 runs before Gayle played havoc with the English bowling. West Indies finished 183 for the loss of four wickets in a total of 18.1 overs which came in reply to what England had scored 182 earlier and appeared to be a competitive score.

The later half of the game proved to be really difficult for the English cricket team as they found it rather difficult to control the wet ball owing to the dew accumulation in Wankhede Stadium. Gayle reached his half century in just 27 balls with the help of three boundaries and four sixes. Speaking to the media, Gayle said, “The dew played a part as well. After facing the first over, I took a while to get back on strike. But Marlon helped ease the pressure.”

It was also said that before Chris Gayle went out to bat, Suleiman Benn had encouraged him to finish the game and not depend on anyone else. Chris said, that he was pumped at the very statement and it really did inspire him to go on from the very begin after the English bowling.
