Addhuri is a 2012 Kannada romantic drama film directed by Addhuri fame Arjun Sarja. The film marks the return of Dhruva Sarja to films after a hiatus of nearly two years. It also features Radhika Pandit and Aindrita Ray in the lead roles. The film released on 15 June 2012 across Karnataka.
The story revolves around the lead pair falling in love with each other, but due to certain circumstances, they are forced to part ways. Addhuri is about their journey as they try to find their way back to each other.
The film was a commercial success at the box office and was well-received by critics. Addhuri went on to become one of the highest-grossing Kannada films of all time.
Dhruva Sarja won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Kannada and the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Addhuri. Radhika Pandit won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Kannada for her performance in the film.
Addhuri was remade in Telugu as Adda with Sushanth and Shanvi Srivastava in the lead roles. The film was also remade in Tamil as Adhaiyum Oru Kaadhal with Vijay Antony and Bhanupriya in the lead roles. Addhuri was also dubbed in Tamil as Adhaiyum Oru Kaadhal.
