Nothing projects elegance, an air of sophistication quite like having a custom piece of furniture made. Knowing you have a one-of-a-kind element in your home is not only such a great feeling but it is immediately noticeable to visitors when they come over, and you can entertain them with your design concept and visualization which the professionals made come to life. You will be the talk of the town before you know it and why not, you invested in a quality piece of furniture and it was worth every penny.
Custom.
The meaning behind the word (see the dictionary version here) dates back to as early as 3000 BCE when the ‘invention’ or rather creation of furniture came about. Emperors and royals would request specific colors or themes, add embellishments or logos to distinguish the varying nations and traditions, and are still a widely used practice today.
We would all love to think of a design, draw it badly onto a piece of paper unless you are somewhat creative and artsy, and have the industry experts put their hands to it and create your vision. But more often than not we stop ourselves with the notion that it will be impossibly expensive, out of reach, and certainly not within any budget we have in mind. Until now.
The world is evolving, brands and businesses understand the need for making something your own and they are here to help you get that, for yourself, for your home, for your satisfaction.
Designing.
Naturally, we would all like to say that our doodle is the luxury piece of furniture you see before you, and for some, it does happen, but rather than frustrating yourself why not simply order the furniture you want and to your taste. Check out a few tips in this link to help get you started but for the most part, working with professionals is your best bet to get the job done beautifully the first time around.
Take your time to do your research and homework to get as clear a vision as possible of what you are looking for and leaning towards as a result, this way the designer has something to work off of and can edit or tweak the image according to your requests while offering subtle advice and guidance. Be sure that the company you opt to work with listens to what you have to say rather than pressuring you into what they believe looks good, you have an opinion, don’t be afraid to voice it.
Choices.
There can be an overwhelming amount of brands and firms out there all claiming to be the best in the business and before you have begun you are thinking about reconsidering. Find a company that makes you feel at ease, businesses such as the Designer Closet Guys who understand that you want something that represents your style and personality could be the answer you have been looking for.
Don’t go for the first result in the search engine, while it may seem like the easiest option it may not necessarily be the quality you had in mind.
Browse the website of a few options and narrow your choices down to a handful, then look a little closer. Read the customer comments section on their webpage, see who they have worked with and designed for, and the customer service they experienced, this will give you a very good indication of the customer care you are likely to receive.
A final thought.
There is a long list of advantages to designing and ordering a bespoke piece of furniture, but at the end of the day why would you want to be just like everyone else. How boring.
Life is meant to be lived to the fullest, how you see fit and made the most of. If you have been working long hours for months or even years then why is it so wrong to want to treat yourself to something pretty and unique.
Make your home beautiful the way you envision it, and if custom pieces make that happen then all the better.
