Wink’ sensation Priya Prakash Varrier bags her first Bollywood film ‘Sridevi Bungalow’

Wink sensation Priya Prakash Varrier became famous after her iconic winking scene from a movie which went viral overnight. She has come a long way since then. She has also bagged Prasanth Mambully’s ‘Sridevi Bunglow’which is her Bollywood debut. Along with this, she has also bagged her third film which is Mayank Prakash’s Love Hackers.

Talking about her Bollywood debut ‘Sridevi Bungalow‘, the 19-year-old actress admitted about the similarities between the death of the late actress and the teaser of her film, but it is a mere coincidence.

The first teaser of the film has a shot of a bathtub with the legs of a woman hanging down. This image was found to resemble how the veteran actress died. The late actor died in a bathtub of her hotel in Dubai last year. Officially, it was declared that the cause of her death was an accidental drowning.

Journey of Priya in the South Indian film industry so far

Discussing her journey with the reporters, she revealed that it has been a combination of sweet and sour experiences. She never thought that she would gain such amount of fame with just a wink but at the same time, she did not seem to be happy with the performance of her film at the Box Office.

Priya had never imagined that she would be a household name for her wink. It had a spontaneous gesture which she had in mind while shooting the song. It was more of a shock for her and her family took some time to make peace with it.

Varrier being popular as the ‘wink girl ‘became an overnight sensation due to her expressions in the teaser song of her debut Malayalam movie Oru Adaar Love. She has also turned into a singer for upcoming film Finals. It is a romantic duet song ‘Nee Mazhavillu’ sung by Naresh Iyer and Priya Prakash Varrier.

She is now backwith another viral video. This time it does not involve any flirting or winking. It is a romantic and kissing scene with cinematographer Sinu Sidharth. The video ends up with a funny twist of Sinu drinking water from the bottle.

Priya Prakash Varrier signs yet another Bollywood film after Sridevi Bungalow

Love Hackers is Priya’s second Hindi film. It would be shot in Lucknow, Gurgaon, Mumbai and Delhi. It is a crime-thriller dealing with cybercrime. She is playing the role of a protagonist who with her instinct, presence of mind and knowledge emerges out of an unfortunate situation successfully. The story is based on real-life incidences.

Priya who became a social media sensation after her wink scene has been the first choice for the character as per Mayank, the director of the film. According to him, “Online breaches make the society more complicated to live in. The number of users of social media in India is astonishing but most of them are unaware of the various types of cybercrime. Our motive is to explore this topic with the help of this film.”
