Games by Spribe Shine Bright with Massive Growth Figures
The games created by one particular studio – Spribe, founded in 2018 and specialised mainly in innovative cash or crash games, has shown such growth in turnovers and user count in online casinos over the last several months that the otherwise impressive growth rates of the whole online gaming industry seem stalled, a recent report by SevenJackpots reveals.
And it was an abrupt spike: between January and July 2022, Spribe products had been growing steadily more than doubling their share of online casino operator turnovers from 0.44% to 0.95%; and then in August registered a share of 2.79% executing a sudden jump of almost 200% in less than a month!
That spike doesn’t look like it’s going to be a one-time hit story either, as in September Spribe kept its share high, despite dropping to 2.43% of total realised turnovers.
Thus, the small and aspiring game studio managed to increase its overall share of operator turnovers by 44.2% in the three months from August to October to 0.87%, compared to Spribe’s average performance for the whole period between January and October 2022 of 0.61%.
The same period witnessed an even sharper growth in the game studio’s share of active users by 66.68%, from 4.52% to 7.53%.
These figures make Spribe stand out as a massive grower on the backdrop of the whole online gaming industry in India, which is generally regarded as a sunrise sector with its CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 27% as per Lumikai data.
Yet, the most impressive aspect of Spribe’s rapid success is that the studio is not producing any of the “mainstream” casino games that usually attract massive audiences and money flows like roulette, blackjack, or baccarat.
Crypto-Inspired Crash Games Lead the Way
The shifts in turnover shares observed by the researchers at SevenJackpots are in fact the crest of a larger wave sweeping the world of online casino gaming: the new cash or crash games that carry elements from crypto technology.
Spribe is the studio that produced the “Market Star” of the new gaming genre – Aviator, which increased its online traction tenfold between February and September according to Mangools’ KWFinder tool.
The game’s typically simple design (to see how Aviator looks and play a free demo click here) resembles a stock market graph running contrary to the latest online casino fashion of developing heavier visually and more immersive games intended to be broadcasted live from dedicated studios with real dealers.
Like any cash or crash game, Aviator is based on a volatile bet multiplier that keeps increasing until a sudden crash occurs. Players may cash out at any time or wait for the multiplier to grow further, risking the crash to occur before they have cashed out their wagers.
Besides the simplicity and the powerful thrill of decision-making in a stock trading-like environment, the strong appeal of crash games is based on their usually high return-to-player (RTP) rations, often around 95%-97%, and their provably fair random number generation that combines server and player seeds and generates results that the players can easily verify.
Cash or Crash and Other Titles
Aviator was created in 2019 and had to wait three years before turning into the market star of a whole wave of novel games. Another game – itself called Cash or Crash, was developed much later (in the second half of 2021), but rose to success with no delay whatsoever.
Shortly after its release, it became the sixth most popular live casino title and ranked second in terms of generated turnover (6.55%), and third in user count (17.19%), in the category of “Other” games.
Cash or Crash is a crossover between crash game mechanics and a live-dealer game show created by Evolution – the market leader in online casino game development.
Pragmatic Play, another big studio, but specialised in slots, expanded its portfolio with Spaceman which became the fourth most popular casino crash game. Many of Spribe’s other “Turbo”or crash game titles like Goal, Mines, and Plinko perform quite well, while JetX and FootbalX by SmartSoft are also notable.
