For the past year, a lot of people have fallen back on online jobs. Online jobs have supported those who lost their jobs, and allowed people with already existing jobs to work from home. Finding work on the internet is easier than ever, and provides you with the flexibility and convenience that no in-person job can. All you need are certain reliable utilities, which you can get through FirstEnergy power.
While work may be scarce in some places, nearly everyone has been able to bounce back through online work in recent times. However, if you happen to be one of the few people still looking for a job, here is a list of career options that you can pursue from the comfort of your home.

ToggleContent Writing
For anyone who likes to write or is skilled enough at it, content writing is one of the best career options out there for working remotely. The good thing about this career option is that it does not require an absurd amount of experience, so you can most likely land a position as a content writer even with no experience, granted you’re skilled enough.
Aside from that, content writing isn’t something that you need extensive knowledge for. It’s a research-based job, which you can learn as you write. This gives it flexibility, and the more experience you get, the better the pay will be – there’s no reason not to consider it as a full-time career!
Graphic Designing
In recent years, with everything being digitalized, the demand for graphic designers has skyrocketed in almost every industry. It’s something that every single brand requires. Logos, posters, banners, online animated gifs and videos – these are all essential parts of giving any brand an identity.
Artists can also freelance with graphic designing, considering they aren’t looking for a full-time job. A lot of small brands are willing to hire small artists for their campaigns, and it’s a mutually beneficial trade, since an artist not only gets paid, they also gain popularity through a brand’s audience.
Programming
Another career option that can land you a great job based on your skills is programming. This is a very flexible field because you can even incorporate it into the work you already do. Like graphic design, programming is also something that every single online platform relies on. Since the job is entirely computer-based, you can easily do it from home.
Aside from career security, programming also comes with a few different perks. You can design whatever you want, a new app, your own website— the possibilities with programming are endless, which means you will most likely never get bored of.
Digital Art
Digital art may be confused with graphic design, but it has less to do with designing. If you’re someone who has experience with different design-related software but don’t have the basic knowledge of designing, this career option is for you. Digital artists can get paid a lot of money for their services, but most people prefer to do freelance work. This provides flexibility with timings, as well as creative freedom.
Digital art can be utilized for a number of things. People may want to have something drawn to gift to a friend, or someone may need a mascot for their new company; it’s safe to say that work won’t be scarce as a digital artist, and everything can be done remotely.
Proofreading
If you’re not into writing but still have the skills required for it, you can become a proofreader. In a lot of big companies that write for either their own brand or for clients, proofreading is a very important part of the process. It allows them to review the work before it is actually published.
This is a job that requires a certain amount of skill since it’s the last stage of the writing process and a company’s reputation depends on it, so if you can polish your skills enough, this is a great option to go for.
Customer Support
Especially in recent times, customer support has become a very important part of any company. This is because most of the interaction that companies now have with customers is online, and vice versa. It’s the only way people can reach out to a company for help, complaints, etc. This is why there has been an abundance of available positions for customer support, and it pays fairly well for someone trying to get back on their feet after being unemployed for a while.
Social Media Influencer
With a big enough audience, social media influencers can get a lot of money and free products for simply posting about them on their accounts. This is because brands want their product to reach a specific target audience and for that they pick out influencers whose followers consist mainly of that audience. For example, a lot of beauty influencers are sent free makeup, or even products like hair vitamins to test and promote on their page. This is also a mutually beneficial trade; however, building that kind of audience does require a lot of time and dedication.
Tutoring
Online teaching jobs have exploded in popularity as a result of the pandemic. Many people who never considered teaching as a career before have now begun teaching from the comfort of their own homes and are earning a decent salary as well! What better yet, it is not that difficult to become a qualified teacher.
Take English tutoring for example, if you can speak English you’re halfway there! All you need to do now is secure a reputable English teaching qualification and you’re good to go! On average it takes between 4-6 months to complete the course and suddenly you’re earning cash in your PJ’s!
Conclusion
Whether you’re someone who can’t find a job, or if you just prefer to stay at home and select your work hours according to your convenience, these online jobs are sure to make things a lot easier for you. Online jobs are for people with all sorts of career paths and qualifications, so anyone can do them; you just have to know where to look.
