How To Download Pf Passbook?

The EPFO also known as the Employees Provident Fund Organization has introduced a new facility that will help all its EPF subscribers. This facility enables all EPF subscribers to download their PF passbook with the help of Universal Account Number (UAN). This new facility allows all its EPF subscribers to download and save their UAN EPF passbook which can only be accessed with the individuals Universal Account Number. This EPF passbook can be saved to one’s personal device so that one can review the entries that have been made over a period of time.

E-passbook is basically an online version of a PF status book where an employee’s PF transactions and status can be monitored and recorded. Date and month wise transactions that have been made in the account are displayed in the e-passbook. Additional details such as name and employee’s date of birth is also mentioned in the PF e-passbook.

So, if you are an EPF holder here are the steps through which you can download your EPF passbook.

Step 1: Register yourself on the EPFO portal

The first step the subscriber needs to do is, register oneself on the EPFO member portal by simply activating his/her UAN. In order to activate one’s UAN, visit . You will also require additional details to activate your UAN such as the individuals allotted UAN, Aadhaar, PAN or Member ID ought to be available in order to activate the UAN and obtain online access to the web portal.

Step 2: Authentication

The next step, after registering yourself with the member portal is to authenticate you. Once you enter and submit all your required details, an authentication pin will be sent on your registered mobile number. In order to complete the registration process you will have to enter the authentication pin, so that you can access the portal any time you want and log into the member services.

Step 3: Download the e-passbook

To download the e-passbook, the subscriber needs to simply login to the member portal and select the ‘Download e-passbook’ option. After clicking this option, you will have to fill up details such as the state in which the EPF office is located, specific EPF office within the particular state, the PF code of the employer, PF account number of the employee need to be entered and submitted on the web portal in order to generate a PIN that would be sent to the subscribers registered mobile number.

Once the PIN is entered onto the web portal, the authentication process is completed and the e-passbook will be available for download to the subscriber within three working days on the same page of the web portal. This new facility of EPF Account Passbook allows individuals to download their e-passbook at their convenience multiple times a month. The PF department does not provide hard copies of annual PF statement.

Points to be noted:

  • In order to access the member portal, self is the login id.
  • Inoperative and closed EPF accounts cannot generate e-passbooks.
