1. The Ghan, Australia:

The Ghan is one of the world’s most dangerous rail routes, with a history of deadly accidents. In the early years of operation, there were several fatal accidents, including a collision between two trains in 1881 that killed 16 people. The Ghan has also been the scene of several derailments, including one in 2009 that killed four people.

2. The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, India:

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway is another dangerously perched rail line. The narrow gauge track runs for just over 80 miles through some of the most rugged terrain in India. The line was completed in 1881 and has been the scene of several fatal accidents, including a head-on collision in 1995 that killed 156 people.

3. The Konkan Railway, India:

The Konkan Railway is a 741-mile long rail line that runs along the coast of India. The line is notoriously dangerous, with a high number of accidents and fatalities. In 2010, a train derailment near the town of Chiplun killed 101 people and injured more than 200.

4. The Simplon Orient Express, Europe:

The Simplon Orient Express was once one of the most luxurious trains in the world but it has also been the scene of some deadly accidents. In 1918, a fire aboard the train killed 54 people. In 1937, another fire broke out on the train, killing 28 people.

5. The Tazara Railway, Africa:

The Tazara Railway is a 990-mile long rail line that runs between Tanzania and Zambia. The line was built in the 1970s and has been the scene of several fatal accidents, including a derailment in 1994 that killed at least 200 people.

6. The Arlberg Orient Express, Europe:

The Arlberg Orient Express was once one of the most luxurious trains in the world but it has also been the scene of some deadly accidents. In 1910, a fire broke out on the train, killing 28 people. In 1976, another fire aboard the train killed 12 people.

7. The Glasgow South Western Railway, Scotland:

The Glasgow South Western Railway is a notoriously dangerous rail line, with a history of fatal accidents. In 1877, a collision between two trains killed 16 people. In 1915, a derailment near the town of Kilmarnock killed 22 people.

8. The Caledonian Railway, Scotland:

The Caledonian Railway is another dangerous rail line in Scotland, with a history of fatal accidents. In 1878, a derailment near the town of Glasgow killed 17 people. In 1889, a head-on collision between two trains near the town of Perth killed 28 people.

9. The Great Western Railway, England:

The Great Western Railway is a dangerous rail line that runs through some of the most densely populated areas of England. In 1864, a train derailment near the town of London killed 7 people. In 1873, another derailment near the town of Paddington killed 112 people.

The Birmingham and Gloucester Railway is a dangerous rail line that runs through some of the most densely populated areas of England. In 1838, a train derailment near the town of Cheltenham killed 11 people. In 1841, another derailment near the town of Gloucester killed 13 people.
