1. Robert Wadlow

The tallest person in medical history, Robert Wadlow, was born in Alton, Illinois, USA on February 22, 1918. He grew to an astounding height of 8 feet 11.1 inches (2.72 meters) and weighed 491 pounds (223 kilograms) at his death at the age of 22. Wadlow’s great size was due to a condition called gigantism, which is caused by an excess of growth hormone in the body.

2. John F. Carroll

John F. Carroll was born in Brooklyn, New York, USA on October 23, 1868. At the time of his death on November 15, 1952, he was the world’s oldest living man. Carroll’s great age was due to a condition called familial longevity, which is an inherited trait that allows some people to live much longer than average.

3. Chang and Eng Bunker

The original “Siamese Twins,” Chang and Eng Bunker were born in Siam (now Thailand) on May 11, 1811. The brothers were joined at the chest by a band of flesh and cartilage, and shared a liver. They lived together as one person, but each had his own head, arms, and legs. Chang and Eng were eventually able to live relatively normal lives, despite their condition. They married two sisters and fathered 21 children between them.

4. Charles Byrne

Charles Byrne was a Irishman born in 1761. He suffered from a condition called gigantism and reached a height of 8 feet 7 inches (2.62 meters) at the time of his death in 1783. Byrne was so self-conscious about his great size that he requested to be buried at sea, lest his corpse be put on display as a curiosity. Unfortunately, his wishes were not honored and his body was put on display anyway.

5. Robert Pershing Wadlow

Robert Pershing Wadlow is the tallest person in recorded history. He was born in Alton, Illinois, USA on February 22, 1918 and grew to a height of 8 feet 11.1 inches (2.72 meters). Wadlow’s great size was due to a condition called gigantism, which is caused by an excess of growth hormone in the body. Wadlow died at the age of 22, but not before setting several world records for his height.

6. John Rogan

John Rogan was born in Tippah County, Mississippi, USA on February 16, 1841. At the time of his death on September 12, 1904, he was the world’s tallest man. Rogan’s great height was due to a condition called acromegaly, which is caused by an excess of growth hormone in the body. Rogan stood 8 feet 9 inches (2.67 meters) tall at his peak height.

7. Leonid Stadnyk

Leonid Stadnyk was born in the Ukrainian village of Podolsk on August 13, 1972. He suffered from a condition called pituitary dwarfism, which stunted his growth. As a result, he only reached a height of 4 feet 5 inches (1.35 meters). In 2006, Stadnyk was measured at 8 feet 5 inches (2.57 meters) tall, making him the world’s tallest living man at that time.

8. Edward Nanney

Edward Nanney was born in Llanelli, Wales on July 29, 1881. At the time of his death on May 24, 1905, he was the world’s shortest man. Nanney only reached a height of 3 feet 6 inches (1.07 meters) due to a condition called dwarfism.

9. Gul Mohammed

Gul Mohammed was born in Delhi, India on December 10, 1957. He suffered from a condition called pituitary dwarfism, which stunted his growth. As a result, he only reached a height of 2 feet 9 inches (0.84 meters). In 1997, Mohammed was measured at 4 feet 1 inch (1.24 meters) tall, making him the world’s shortest living man at that time.

10. Chandra Bahadur Dangi

Chandra Bahadur Dangi was born in Nepal on November 3, 1939. He suffered from a condition called primordial dwarfism, which stunted his growth. As a result, he only reached a height of 1 foot 9 inches (0.53 meters). In 2012, Dangi was measured at 2 feet 5.37 inches (0.74 meters) tall, making him the world’s shortest living man at that time.

These are just some of the people with the largest and longest body parts in the world. There are many other people out there with conditions that cause them to be larger or smaller than average. So if you think you’re too short or too tall, don’t worry – there’s someone out there who’s just like you.
