There are so many different types of braids out there, and it can be tough to keep them all straight! But don’t worry, we’re here to help.
Here’s a quick rundown of some of the most popular types of braids:
– French braid: This is probably the most classic braid hairstyle out there. To do a french braid, start by dividing your hair into three sections. Then, take the outermost section and cross it over the middle section. Now take the innermost section and cross it over the middle section. Continue this pattern until you reach the end of your hair, then secure with a hair tie.
– Dutch braid: A dutch braid is similar to a french braid, but the sections are crossed under instead of over. This creates a bit of a different look, and can be a little tougher to do. But don’t worry, just keep at it and you’ll get the hang of it!
– Fishtail braid: A fishtail braid is a little more complicated than a french or dutch braid, but it’s definitely worth the extra effort. To do a fishtail braid, start by dividing your hair into two sections. Then, take a small piece from one of the outside sections and cross it over to the other side. Continue this pattern until you reach the end of your hair, then secure with a hair tie.
– Waterfall braid: A waterfall braid is a beautiful and romantic style that’s perfect for a special occasion. To do a waterfall braid, start by creating a small french braid near the front of your head. Then, as you continue braiding, let each section fall loose as you go. This will create the “waterfall” effect.
– Braided bun: A braided bun is a great way to keep your hair out of your face while still looking stylish. To do a braided bun, start by putting your hair into a high ponytail. Then, divide the ponytail into three sections and start braiding them together. Once you reach the end of your hair, wrap the braid around itself to form a bun, and secure with bobby pins.
Hopefully this quick guide has helped you learn a little bit more about the different types of braids! Now get out there and start experimenting with some new styles.
