Ford Mustang: Features and Specifications
After getting huge applause across the western countries, now the American pony car Ford Mustang has made its way to India. Ford India has confirmed that they are going to launch this muscular hunk in the Indian market on 13th July, 2016. Since its first launch in 1965 the car has generated immense interest among the car lovers and soon it became a poster car for most of the car lovers in India but now they can see it running on the Indian roads. The vehicle is equipped with the very powerful engine and so many advanced comfort, luxury and safety features. Let’s have a deeper look into the car and see what Ford is offering with the sixth generation of Mustang.
Exterior Appearance
The sixth generation of Ford Mustang which is going to be launched in the Indian auto market looks more aggressive as compared to its predecessors. Its sleek black finished headlight cluster gives it stunning front appearance. The vehicle has got iconic design, its black colored front grille which is integrated with the Ford’s logo further add more style. The headlight cluster of the vehicle is now sleeker with clear lens projector headlamps and black finish from inside. Its large masculine bumper is equipped with powerful fog lamps which not only add more style to the vehicle but also improves visibility in foggy weather. Apart from these, the vehicle is loaded with loads of stylish features at its exterior including alloy wheels, black finish sleek windows, body colored door handles and ORVMs, sporty tail lamp and black tinted exhaust pipe.
Interiors
The interiors of Ford Mustang look very classy with leather upholstery and black finished dashboard. The interiors of the vehicle are very appealing for those who loves luxurious passenger cabin. The passenger cabin of this hunk is not only very spacious but also equipped with loads of luxury and comfort features which works as stress buster. Its dashboard is loaded with the highly advanced touch screen infotainment system and number of illuminated control buttons. Engine
The new Ford Mustang has got very powerful engine under the hood. It is expected that the vehicle will be launched with two variants with different capacity EcoBoost engine options. It is expected that the base variant will be equipped with the 2.3 Liter, EcoBoost petrol engine with advanced fuel injector and DOHC valve configuration. It can deliver maximum power output of 310 BHP with impressive torque of 434 Nm.
While the top end variant is expected to be launched with 5.0 Liter, EcoBoost petrol engine with eight cylinders and 32 Valves which is further integrated with turbocharger for enhanced power output. This power mill produces tremendous power output of 415 BHP with peak torque of 524 Nm. It is expected that both the engine variants will be integrated with six speed automatic transmission gearbox.
Acceleration, Performance & Mileage
Both variants of Ford Mustang delivers excellent acceleration, pick up and performance though it mileage is slightly on lower side. Its basic variant which is expected to be powered by the 2.3 Liter EcoBoost petrol engine can reach 0 to 100 kmph speed in just 6 seconds and its top speed is 240 kmph. However, the maximum mileage of this variant is around 13 kmpl.
On the other hand, the top end variant of Ford Mustang which is equipped with 5.0 Liter, V8 petrol engine with eight cylinder and turbocharger offer more power and torque which further makes its acceleration, pick up and performance better as compared to base variant but its mileage is quite low. It can cross 100 kmph speed barrier from standstill in just 4.5 seconds and its electronically restricted top speed is 250 Kmph. While if we talk about the mileage of this hunk, you can expect maximum 11 kmpl mileage from it.
Braking, Handling & Safety
The new Ford Mustang is equipped with loads of comfort and safety features which not only makes the handling of the vehicle very convenient but also ensures maximum safety for the passengers. The vehicle has got very efficient advanced braking system with internally vented disc brakes which are integrat5ed with ABS and EBD which prevents wheel from locking up in case of hard braking. Also, the presence of advanced ESP (electronic stability program) and traction control features further enhances the stability of the vehicle in case of sharp turns and sudden braking. On the other hand, vehicle has got loads of advanced safety features which keep drivers and passengers safe in case of any unwanted situation.
