JEE Main
By appearing in this examination, candidates will get a chance to pursue B.Tech from the topmost engineering institutes, i.e. IITs, NITs, IIITs, CFTIs etc. Students who manage to get a rank among the top 1.5 lakh candidates in the JEE Main will get a chance to move to the next stage, i.e. JEE Advanced. JEE Main is considered as an eligibility test for the JEE Advanced which is mandatory for JEE aspirants who wish to seek admission to IITs.
JEE Main Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible to appear for JEE Main exam, candidates must have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The marks obtained by students in 10+2 examination will be a deciding factor to be eligible to appear in JEE Main. They will not affect a candidate’s ranking in the Joint Entrance Examination.
To qualify for appearing in the examination, aspirants are required to score at least 75% marks (65% for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC category), or they need to be among the top 20 percentile in their 10+2 examination.
Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT)
Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is conducted by BITS – Pilani for admission to engineering programs in a wide range of disciplines. This exam is conducted in online mode, i.e. Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and the duration of examination is three hours.
Admission Test For: The exam is conducted for getting admission in the engineering courses in BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad.
Eligibility criteria: To be eligible to appear for BITSAT, candidates must have scored an aggregate of at least 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics collectively in their 10+2 examination.
Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE)
VITEEE is conducted by the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) for admission to the engineering programs in various campuses namely Vellore and Chennai as well as the universities located in Amravati and Bhopal. This exam is conducted in online mode, i.e. in Computer Based Test mode.
Admission Test For: Engineering degree programs in VIT Vellore and VIT Chennai.
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination, or it’s equivalent from a recognised board with an aggregate of at least 60 per cent (50% for candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC category along with candidates from J&K and North-Eastern states) in PCM/PCB.
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE)
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination is a popular engineering entrance exam which is taken by over two lakh candidates every year. This exam tends to focus more on evaluating the problem-solving speed of a person rather than testing the intellectual depth of a candidate.
Admission Test For: All the engineering colleges located in West Bengal.
Eligibility Criteria:- Candidates must have passed Class 12 examination or equivalent in relevant discipline from a recognised board — candidates seeking admission to Govt. Engineering Colleges and Reserve Category seats of any institute must be a domicile of West Bengal.
Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET)
The Indraprastha University, Common Entrance Test, is a university-level engineering entrance examination which is conducted by the Indraprastha University for admission to Engineering courses offered by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
Admission Test For: All the engineering colleges affiliated by the Indraprastha University.
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have passed Class 12 examination or equivalent from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
