It’s 2008, when Avinabh Bindra won a Gold medal for India in the Men’s 10m Air Riffle shooting. The entire India was in dream that they couldn’t believe that victory after 1980 of a hockey team’s triumph. After 2008, 12 years passed. The history repeats in 2021 by the hand of Neeraj Chopra.

After Avinabh Bindra, Neeraj Chopra was the 2nd best athlete who was able to achieve the crown as Olympic Champion and won Gold Medal for India on Saturday in Tokyo Olympics. It’s India’s first ever triumph in the event of Javelin Throw. What a shot it’s by Neeraj Chopra! 87.58m is not a joke. His best attempt gave the historic result for him and for whole Indians.

Jakub Vadlejch from Czech achieved Silver medal and Vitezslav Veseley from also Czech attained Bronze medal from this event.

Let’s Know About Neeraj Chopra Today:-

In the year 1997 on 24th December, Neeraj Chopra was born at Panipat in Haryana, India. His nick name, ‘Golden Boy’ is now fully satisfied after Tokyo Olympics 2020. His 5’11 inch height and his strong sports has given him a decent position in Indian Army. In 2016, he was appointed to Junior Commissioned Officer in Indian Army. Though he was a son of an ordinary farmer, but his determination and hard work have made him extraordinary in the entire world. His family is extremely supportive to his athlete life.

His Achieved Medals:-

  • First in 2016, in the Asian Junior Championship which was held in the Ho Chi Minh City, he won Silver medal from Javelin Throw.
  • In the same year, in World Junior Championships he won Gold Medal.
  • On that following year, in the city, Guwahati in South Asian Games, he again was able to grab Gold medal.
  • In 2017, Asian Championship was conducted in the Bhubaneswar. In this game, he also won Gold medal.
  • Commonwealth Games was held in 2018 in Gold Coast. There Neeraj Chopra successfully achieved Gold medal.
  • In the same year, Asian Games in Jakarta, he again performed the best to win the Gold medal.
  • Now in 2021, he made history by winning Gold medal in Tokyo Olympics 2020 for India from the event, Javelin Throw.

Still now, he can achieve total six 1st position and one 2nd position in the prestigious Games.
