Indians On Twitter Wants to Boycott Myntra: Here’s Why

The whole world was celebrating Raksha bandhan and what was going on there on twitter, something happened that shook the whole world, let’s see what is the reason.

On Sunday 22nd August 2021, a tweet of a purported 2016 anti-Hindu advertising that Myntra did not manufacture went viral again. On Monday, the hashtags #BoycottMyntra and #UninstallMyntra were trending on Twitter. ScrollDroll made the advertising in 2016 and shared it on Twitter using the Myntra logo.

On Monday 23rd August 2021 morning, five years later, numerous people have already begun removing the app from their mobile, citing it as harming anti-Hindu sentiments. Enraged by the advertising, several individuals turned to Twitter to call for a boycott of the shopping website Myntra.

On Sunday, as people across the country celebrated Raksha bandhan, calls for a boycott of Myntra and the uninstallation of the online clothing shopping app erupted on Twitter, as they have many times before.

It was trending again for the same reason it was in 2016: an anti-Hindu banner that the firm didn’t even make. In 2016, however, the hashtag #BoycotteMyntra was born after ScrollDroll published an advertisement for the e-commerce shopping site Myntra that included a scene from the Mahabharata to sell their items.

In 2016, Scrolldroll produced an advertisement that showed Krishna browsing for extra-long saris on the Myntra app as Dushasan disrobed Draupadi, causing a stir.

People began to boycott Myntra after seeing the advertisement

People began to boycott Myntra after seeing the advertisement, presuming it was produced by Myntra, which is known for being a clothing company. In addition, they had criticized the picture for trivializing a passage from the Hindu epic, which they considered derogatory to their religion.

To quell the criticism on Twitter, Myntra responded with a tweet claiming that they did not post the ad. This advertisement had been taken care of by ScrollDroll.

Myntra, which was not involved in the commercial, isn’t the only company chastised for anti-Hindu attitudes. Surf Excel, Tanishq, Kerala tourism, and other advertising have already been criticized for offending religious feelings.
