Over the years it lost its essence but in the past decades its popularity rose. Yoga is now a very popular form of exercise that many youngsters are turning to. Yoga retreats at centers like Yovada are getting very popular where people come and learn yoga and detoxify their body and mind. It is a relaxing exercise and if often helpful for people struggling with both mental health and physical health problems.

You can start off yoga at home before officially joining any classes , simply by focusing on how to regulate your inhaling and exhaling and concentrating. That is meditating , you can chant “om” if you feel like doing so but even if you don’t and it can be performed while listening to calm music. Its main purpose is to put your mind, soul and body in a tranquil state.

You can expect that your instructors may set   or create an environment or ambience in which one can peacefully and to bring out the efficiency. They may guide you or ask you to do some asana while asking you to focus on your breath. You can expect a meditation session.

Another important point to note down while joining yoga classes is how you dress for it. It is preferable to wear comfortable clothes and flexible loose, they must be a little loose so that you don’t find it difficult to perform any asana or they restrict your movement.

You can ask your instructor about any specific rule to follow while in class. But you must keep your phone or any smart device away while doing yoga. So that you may not get distracted and your mind, body and soul are all focusing on being tranquil.

It is normal to feel a little soreness in your limbs after your first session as your muscles are not accustomed to the asana. Do not panic as it is very normal to feel sore. You can bring your own water, a small towel and yoga matt if you wish to.

The most important thing is to stay calm and focus on the state of mind, you may perform your asana with many mistakes or you may not be able to achieve the perfect posture in one go , then you must be patient as over the time you will get used to it and it is nothing to be embarrassed about.
