Mirabai Chanu Wins Silver At Tokyo Olympics

India Had Made ITS Place In Olympic Successfully

The devotion and respect for India in a true Indian again has proved that India has the treasure of talents in her country. And yesterday, Mirabai Chanu, a 26-year-old maiden, has given rise to the name of India in the success index of the Olympics. Mirabai Chanu, the woman weightlifter, vying in the category of 49kg, made a record by winning a Medal from our country, India, in Tokyo Olympics. From China, Saurabh Chaudhury won the gold medal, and from India, Mirabai Chanu achieved the Silver Medal. Saurabh Chaudhury was number 1 in the segment of the Men’s 10m Air Pistol shooting event.

Is Mirabai Chanu The First Women Achiever In Weightlifting In the Olympics?

Indian comes in the second position by lifting of total 202 kg weight. At the same time, Hou Zhihoi from China earned the record as first by lifting a total of 212 kg of weight and gained the gold Medal in Olympics. In 1998, Karnam Malleswari won a bronze medal in Olympics in the category of weightlifting. According to this, Mirabai Chanu is second to win from the category of weightlifting in the Olympics. But in Tokyo Olympics, Mirabai Chanu was the first and foremost Indian woman to win the silver medal.

World No. 3 began with great lifts of 84 kg and 87 kg in the snatch. It’s was prepared to attain a perfect start to her journey for a podium finish. However, she had failed in the third attempt of lifting 89 kg. Her initial two lifts were enough to bring a glimpse of her achievement in the Olympics. At last, in the 49 kg weight lifting category, Mirabai Chanu was in a great position and snatched the top place in Olympics. Though Mirabai was depleted to lift 117kg of weight, her deep determination couldn’t resist her winning the silver medal. Five years ago, this Mirabai once failed to win the crown of victory in the Rio Olympics.

Mirabai Chanu’s Previous Achievement:-

When she was just 22 years old in 2017, in Anaheim of the United States, she made the history of triumph in the World Weightlifting Championship. Karnam Malleswari was the first Indian to win the medal in the World Weightlifting Championship, and Mirabai Chanu was the second Indian of this specific segment. Next, in the year 2018, Mirabai again brightened the name of India in the Commonwealth Games 2018. Where she had lifted a total of 196 kg of weight, she won the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games 2018 and compelled a record as an Indian woman by lifting the weight. In 2019, she achieved a bronze medal in the Asian Weightlifting Championship by lifting 49kg of weight. Till then, the total of 199 kg was her best. Though in 2021, she crossed the 200kg barrier in the Asian Championship.

Conclusion

A woman can do whatever she wants, and this is now proven by Mirabai Chanu by making the record in Tokyo Olympics as an Indian girl. If you have a dream and the determination to fulfil it, then you surely can achieve it.
