What Is Pastel Painting?
Pastel painting or drawing is an art technique where pastels are used to make a print. Pastels are finger-like sticks, also known as crayons, which are made of powdered pigments mixed with a nongreasy binder. For pastel print artists, pastels come in many colors to make a colorful drawing.
What differentiates the pastel art from other painting techniques is the inspiration. In many styles, an artist has to use his imagination. In the case of pastel art, the artist takes inspiration from the real world. Whether it’s a wall art of landscapes or a pastel print of boats, it is somehow connected to the real world.
